Automation Specialist (Engineer)

Hybrid - Chicago, IL

As an Automation Specialist at EMPIST, you will play a crucial role in enhancing efficiency and productivity through the design, implementation, and maintenance of automated solutions across our internal software and operational processes. You will collaborate closely with various teams to identify opportunities for automation, streamline workflows, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and deploy automation solutions using scripting languages, automation tools, and APIs to optimize internal workflows and processes.

• Conduct thorough analysis of existing systems and processes to identify automation opportunities and areas for improvement.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, define automation scope, and implement solutions that meet business needs.

• Create and maintain documentation for automated processes, including workflow diagrams, technical specifications, and user guides.

• Monitor automated processes to ensure reliability, performance, and scalability.

• Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance related to automation solutions.

• Stay updated on emerging technologies and automation trends to propose innovative solutions.

Ideal candidate will have...

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred)

• Certifications related to automation and/or specific automation tools.

• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).

• Familiarity with DevOps principles and practices.

• Proven experience in designing, developing, and implementing automation solutions within an MSP or similar environment.

• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash.

• Hands-on experience with automation tools and platforms (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Jenkins).

• Strong understanding of APIs and integration techniques.

• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
