Senior Civil Engineer | Airport Construction Inspection

Client :

The Civil Engineer will work for our client, a leading civil engineering firm, established in 1999 and voted as one of the Top 25 Engineering firms by NJ Biz. This firm has steadily grown based on a solid reputation for providing quality service. The diverse staff includes a team of respected engineers and inspectors throughout NJ and NY. Efforts include some of the largest transportation projects in the New York Metropolitan area such as the Raising of the Bayonne Bridge, Tappan Zee Hudson River Crossing, NJ Turnpike Widening, and Fulton Street Transit Center.

Description:

Reporting to the Senior Resident Engineer at Newark Airport's field office . The scope of work will be primarily involving airport and building concrete work, civil site inspection, paving, drainage systems, maintenance of traffic with some knowledge of MEP systems.

Qualifications:

Minimum 7+ years of experience or more inspecting civil/structural construction work, varied in size and complexity.

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Minimum 7+ years of experience inspecting civil/structural construction work
• Airport construction experience would be desirable
• Trained in OSHA 10-hour and 30-hour construction safety; OSHA 30 certification required
• Excellent communication skills, particularly for writing daily narratives and reports
• Valid driver's license required
• Ability to obtain a high SWAC clearance and EWR SIDA card
• Night and weekend shifts may possibly be required; as well, the ability to come in early or stay late
• ICC/NICET Level 3 Asphalt or Highway construction desired; NOT required
• Special Inspector certifications in concrete, highway construction or Structural Masonry.

Education:

BSCE Civil or Structural Engineering
