We are seeking a highly skilled and adaptable Road Mechanic to join our team. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for providing on-site mechanical support and maintenance services for our fleet of construction equipment and vehicles at various project locations. The ideal candidate will possess strong diagnostic and repair abilities, as well as the flexibility to travel as needed to different job sites. Responsibilities: On-Site Equipment Maintenance: Conduct routine maintenance inspections and repairs on a wide range of construction equipment, including excavators, bulldozers, directional drilling machines, and trucks. Diagnose mechanical issues and perform troubleshooting to identify root causes of equipment failures. Execute timely repairs to minimize downtime and ensure the safe and efficient operation of equipment. Emergency Repairs: Respond promptly to emergency repair calls and breakdowns at job sites, troubleshoot issues, and implement effective solutions to get equipment back in operation quickly. Prioritize repairs based on urgency and criticality to minimize disruptions to project timelines. Preventive Maintenance: Perform scheduled maintenance tasks, such as fluid changes, filter replacements, and lubrication, according to manufacturer guidelines and best practices. Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of parts inventory and equipment maintenance history. Coordinate with procurement to ensure adequate stock levels of critical spare parts and consumables are available for on-site repairs. Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others. Conduct equipment inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations. Qualifications: Proven experience as a mechanic, preferably in the construction or heavy equipment industry. Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems in construction equipment. Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work efficiently under pressure to resolve equipment breakdowns. Experience with various diagnostic tools and equipment, including computerized diagnostic software. Willingness to travel to different job sites as needed and work flexible hours, including some evenings and overnight travel. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
