Insitu has an immediate need for a Mail and Package Courier, this will be a 40 hour a week role onsite in Bingen, WA. This role performs supervisory and clerical work providing centralized mail services. Responsible for coordinating mail services with outside postal agencies; picking up, delivering, weighing, stamping, sorting interoffice and official mail; and maintaining a variety of records.
SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Distributes inter-office related mail and packages between 22 facilities throughout the Gorge on a pre-established route/schedule.
- Driving Insitu box truck for dock-to-dock deliveries of finished goods.
- Provides general services and various administrative functions in support of the Insitu-wide distribution of material and supplies.
- Performs company-related errands on behalf of the company, which includes dry cleaning delivery and pick-up, parts retrieval, scrap material, material pick-up, etc.
- Handles and delivers “confidential” interoffice mail.
- Opens and seals external mail (USPS, FedEx, etc.) date-stamps material, weighs and stamps outgoing mail, readdress misdirected mail and delivers mail.
- Assists other clerical employees by performing such duties as filing, running errands, and labeling. Maintains periodical distribution list, print labels, sorts and distributes all periodicals received by Insitu.
- Analyze best method of routing to ensure on-time delivery, special handling requirements and most cost-effective method of delivery.
- Performs pick-up and delivery of Insitu records to and from outside storage.
- Coordinate archive and destruction activities with shredding company to ensure compliance with Insitu guidelines.
- Provides administrative support duties as assigned
- The mail runner will perform manual lifting and driving work. The mail runner works as part of the team in providing delivery and pick-ups services to our internal customers.
- Maintains inventory of general forms, letterhead, envelopes, etc.
- Ensures company facilities (including windows, carpets, lobbies, etc.) are clean, orderly and well maintained.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE/LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 5-year relevant work experience or demonstrated customer service experience; or the equivalent combination of education and/or relevant work experience.
- Computer proficiency, will be using office equipment including work on a computer, 10-key, outlook email; etc.
- Possess or be able to obtain a valid Oregon or Washington State driver's license with ability to obtain a CMV medical card.
- Ability to complete DOT Hazardous Materials Training
SKILLS AND ABILTIES:
- The ability to drive a box truck.
- Learn and apply a broad knowledge of administrative procedures and office operations.
- Organize workload to meet changing priorities and deadlines.
- Learn and use appropriate computer languages to extract and manipulate data and work with frequent interruptions.
- Make decisions in the absence of specific direction.
- Adjust work schedule to accommodate peak work periods.
- Able to continuously lift up to 50 lbs.
- Able to maneuver carts weighing approximately 50 lbs.
- Prior knowledge of US Postal and packaging regulations and processes a plus.
- Prior knowledge of UPS packaging regulations and processes a plus.
- Thorough knowledge of and the ability to navigate The Gorge area.
