Position Overview:
1st Choice is seeking a Document Clerk to join the operations team supporting a statewide child support disbursement program based in Owings Mills, MD. This position plays a vital role in processing and managing sensitive financial and legal documentation. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, experience handling high-volume documentation, and the ability to manage both administrative tasks and customer communication effectively.
Monday: 5:30 AM – 2:00 PM
Tuesday – Friday: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (May end earlier if daily tasks are completed)
Receive, sort, and scan incoming child support payments and mail.
Manually review and enter payment and document information.
Conduct quality control reviews to verify accuracy of scanned and entered data.
Generate, retain, and organize reports and documentation.
Maintain compliance with state and federal retention guidelines.
Handle both inbound and outbound phone calls to child support customers and stakeholders, ensuring professional and timely communication.
Safeguard confidential information, including Federal Tax Information (FTI), in accordance with all policies and procedures.
Adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures and contractual requirements.
Support additional operational tasks and special projects as needed.
Required:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
At least one year of experience in document scanning, payment processing, customer service, or a related administrative role.
Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.

Strong data entry skills, including 10-key proficiency.
Ability to manage multiple systems and tasks simultaneously.

Flexibility to work overtime if needed.
