About The Role CBRE Chicago Multifamily Team is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst. This dynamic role in a high-energy, team focused environment will provide the opportunity to be involved in every stage of a commercial real estate transaction including investment analysis/underwriting, property tours, market research, client meetings, and the production of pitch/offering materials.
This job is part of the Financial Strategy and Operations job function. They are responsible for maintaining accounting, financial, and reporting policies and controls.
What You’ll Do - Complete intermediate to advanced-level accounting transactions in preparation for client financial statement packages.
- Build and post journal entries and ensure that all expenses, receipts, owner's distributions, funding requests, and other transactions for the accounting period have been accurately posted.
- Generate and review financial packages for accuracy and comprehensive reporting. Prepare packages on a schedule to ensure timely delivery to the client and other management teams.
- Review and audit funding and payment requests for accuracy, documentation, and authorization in accordance with established operating procedures.
- Respond to and resolve complex issues and requests from management teams and clients regarding various accounting issues and reports.
- Facilitate the maintenance and reporting of benchmarks and metrics.
- Explain complex information to others in straightforward situations.

- Bachelor's Degree preferred with 2-5 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
- Understanding of existing procedures and standards to solve slightly complex problems.
- Ability to analyze possible solutions using technical experience to apply appropriate judgment and precedents.
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Advanced Excel skills including experience with financial databases, and valuation models preferred.
- Experience with real estate valuation software including Argus or RedIQ is a plus.
- Advanced math skills. Ability to calculate complicated figures such as percentages, fractions, and other financial-related calculations.
- Experience in a financial analysis role preferably in the commercial real estate industry. Ideally, candidate has worked in real estate acquisitions, dispositions, financing, development, and/or asset management. Additional experience with property management, architecture, accounting, marketing, and marketing analytics is a plus.
- Ability to analyze quantitative information and present it graphically.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, quantitative, writing, and communication skills; able to work with top level executives.
- Self-motivation, inquisitive, analytical, team-oriented, communicative, creative, solution-oriented, client-centric, and versatile.
- Desire to grow within a strong team environment and develop peers while working towards same goal.

CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the Sr Finance Analyst position is $60,000 annually and the maximum salary for the Sr Finance Analyst position is $72,000 annually. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience.
