**Job Summary:**
The Patient Services Coordinator I plays a crucial role in a healthcare setting, providing administrative support and exceptional customer service to patients. This position involves scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, collecting payments, and maintaining accurate patient records.

**Qualifications:**
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree in healthcare administration or related field preferred
- Prior experience in a medical office or healthcare setting is a plus
- Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) systems and scheduling software
- Strong communication skills and a customer-oriented approach
- Ability to multitask, prioritize workload, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment

**Responsibilities:**
- Greet patients and visitors in a professional and friendly manner
- Schedule appointments and follow-up visits, coordinating with healthcare providers
- Verify patient insurance coverage and assist with billing inquiries
- Collect co-payments and payments for services rendered
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with regulations
- Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and direct calls to the appropriate personnel
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and scanning documents
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure a smooth patient experience

**Work Environment:**
The Patient Services Coordinator I will work primarily in a healthcare facility such as a hospital, clinic, or medical office. This role may require standing for extended periods, as well as some lifting and bending when handling paperwork or assisting patients. The individual may interact with patients of diverse backgrounds and needs, requiring a compassionate and respectful approach at all times.
