Head of Philanthropy and Social Impact Communications

Job Type: Contract

Location: Jersey City, NJ (Hybrid)

Department: Marketing & Communications – Enterprise-Wide and Engagement Communications

Overview:

We are seeking a contract-based Head of Philanthropy and Social Impact Communications to lead philanthropic programming and communications in support of the organization’s social impact strategy. This role will be responsible for driving volunteer initiatives, charitable partnerships, donation programs, and internal communications to foster employee engagement and community impact.

Key Responsibilities:

Philanthropic Strategy

  • Develop and implement a cohesive philanthropic strategy based on employee feedback and business goals.
  • Identify and manage relationships with charitable partners.
  • Enhance employee engagement through impactful philanthropic programming.
  • Coordinate philanthropy efforts across multiple office locations and regions.

Volunteering

  • Lead and organize employee volunteer programs with nonprofit partners.
  • Promote skills-based volunteering and increase overall employee participation.
  • Coordinate reporting and analysis of volunteer program metrics on a quarterly and annual basis.

Operational Duties

  • Oversee budget and allocation of philanthropic and charitable funds.
  • Manage the employee matching gifts program in collaboration with external vendors.
  • Prepare internal documentation and reports for senior leadership and committees.
  • Maintain and update policy documents related to philanthropy initiatives.

Social Impact Communications

  • Craft engaging internal communications promoting philanthropic activities.
  • Collaborate with Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) on communications during heritage months.
  • Serve as a key communications resource for all social impact and community engagement efforts.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5–7+ years of experience in philanthropy management, nonprofit organizations, events, or employee engagement.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Knowledge of financial services and nonprofit sectors is a plus.
