Salary: $65,000 - 85,000

Location: New York, NY (Onsite)

Job Summary

The Human Resources Operations and Benefits Administrator plays a critical role in supporting core HR functions, including benefits administration, payroll processing, and general HR operations. This position ensures timely and accurate employee benefits enrollment and terminations, and serves as a key resource for benefits-related inquiries and supports the overall employee experience. This role offers valuable hands-on experience in HR while working alongside a diverse and driven team committed to excellence.

This is a full-time onsite position at our NYC headquarters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the onboarding and offboarding process related to benefits enrollment and terminations
  • Serve as a point of contact for routine employee benefit inquiries regarding health benefits, FSA, Commuter, 401(k)
  • Prepare and process monthly commuter benefits contribution files for multiple entities
  • Administer COBRA notices and manage it with insurance broker
  • Handle annual open enrollment processes, communications, and data collection
  • Help maintain and update benefits-related records and documentation
  • Liaise with benefit broker and carriers for routine questions and issue resolution
  • Collaborate with the accounting team ensuring accuracy of monthly benefit invoices
  • Maintain and update employee records and personnel files
  • Assist with onboarding/offboarding tasks including preparation of employment agreements, termination forms, and separation documents
  • Track employee leaves (FMLA, PTO, etc.) and support related employee communications
  • Manage HR Ticketing System as the first point of contact for general HR inquiries
  • Handle employment verification requests (verbal and written)
  • Support responses to government notices (e.g., unemployment and workers’ compensation claims)
  • Assist with biweekly payroll processing, including employee data changes, timesheet collection, deductions, and tax updates
  • Ensure accurate processing of employee lifecycle changes (new hires, terminations, promotions, etc.) across HR systems
  • Other tasks and projects as assigned by the Director of HR

Qualifications:

  • 2-4 years of experience in benefits administration, payroll processing, or general HR support role
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • Knowledge of benefits programs, payroll practices, and relevant compliance requirements (COBRA, FMLA, Workers’ Compensation, etc.)
  • Enthusiastic about being part of supportive and energetic team

  • Analytical, detail-oriented and able to comfortably multitask
  • Experience with payroll systems (OnPay preferred) and HRIS platforms
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and Adobe; familiarity with Asana is a plus

The salary range for this position in our New York City location is targeted at $65,000 to $85,000 per year.

Actual compensation is based on multiple factors that are unique to each candidate, including and not limited to skill set and level of relevant experience.
