Army Reserve. Entry Level. Job Overview: As a Human Intelligence Collector Recruit, you’ll go to the Defense Language Institute (DLI) for language training or test on your language for proficiency. You’ll be responsible for providing support to key Army leaders by collecting information about the enemy force’s strengths, weaknesses, and potential battle areas by debriefing and questioning human intelligence sources and analyzing and preparing intelligence reports. Job Duties: Screen human intelligence sources and documents. Debrief and interrogate human intelligence sources. Participate in human intelligence operations. Analyze and prepare intelligence reports. Basic Eligibility: Minimum high school diploma or GED. Citizen of the United States. No major financial issues. No major medical issues. No major criminal background. Requirements: Those who want to serve must first take a series of tests that help you better understand your strengths and identify which Army jobs are best for you. The Army uses the Defense Language Aptitude Battery (DLAB) to evaluate how well a native English speaker can learn a new language. Your score on the DLAB determines the level of difficulty for language training or Defense Language Proficiency Test in the following languages: Arabic, Egyptian (AE) Arabic, Gulf Iraqi (DG) Arabic, Levantine (AP) Chinese Mandarin (CM) French (FR) (must pass airborne screening) Korean (KP) Persian Farsi (PF) Russian (RU) Training: Job training for a human intelligence collector requires 10 weeks of Basic Combat Training and 20 weeks of Advanced Individual Training with on-the-job instruction. Part of this time is spent in the classroom and in the field. Skills Learned: Screenings, debriefings, and interrogations. Preparing maps and charts. Human Intelligence analysis.
