Job Description

  • Welcome all visitors to the lower school, including helping visitors sign in
  • Support the Head of the Lower School in making their vision come to life
  • Provide the Head of the Lower School with calendar and schedule maintenance and email management, as needed
  • Roster students in the online portal at the start of the year
  • Support other members of the Leadership Team which includes the Lower School Learning Specialist and Lower School Counselor, as needed
  • Assist and support the Head of Lower School in preparing and monitoring the division budget
  • Maintain the daily attendance record
  • Support faculty in coordinating events, field trips, and transportation for the lower school
  • Serve as a liaison between lower school and the events office; attend weekly event meetings
  • Ensure the lower school office, faculty workspaces and classrooms have required supplies and resources
  • Responsible for accurate attendance records during school safety drills (for example, fire drills)
  • Fill in for duties and class coverage, as needed

Applicants for the lower school administrative assistant position must have a high school diploma and experience working in an office environment. Preference for those with a high proficiency of PC systems, tools and applications and experience working in an independent school.

The salary range for this position is $70,000 to $75,000, dependent upon experience. This is a full-time, 12-month position. Work hours are 7:45am to 4:15pm, Monday through Friday. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required.
