Job Description
Under the supervision of the Pharmacist on Duty and/or Pharmacist in Charge, the Pharmacy Delivery Driver will assist in the packing and preparation of patient medication bags/packages into delivery boxes/totes and including the delivery of these medication packages to SJCH's patients at their home. Additional, when not out on delivery, driver will assist with daily pharmacy workflow.

Qualifications/Licensure: Education and Experience - High school diploma or GED required
- Pharmacy Technician License (preferred)
- Experience working in underserved communities such as undocumented workers, unaccompanied minors, LGBT populations, communities of color, youth/adolescents, and those experiencing homelessness, substance abuse, and/or mental illness.
Additional Requirements: - Valid CA Driver's License - Class C
- Active CA Pharmacy Technician License preferred, but not required
- Must have a clean driving record; Human Resources will check DMV records
- Knowledge of safe driving practices and traffic laws
- Must have knowledge of basic DMV regulations
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to be covered by car insurance as required.
- Ability to drive and travel by car as needed.
- Flexibility to travel between Los Angeles, San Bernardino, and Riverside Counties as needed.
Responsibilities Performs a combination, but not necessarily all, of the following duties:
- Types and processes script through the pharmacy software.
- Prepares and stages medication packages and supplies for delivery to patient's homes or place of employment, by ringing it out through the pharmacy POS system.
- Operates SJCH vehicle to deliver medications, medical supplies, documents and additional items as appropriate to place of business, or other location designated by the Pharmacist in Charge.
- Obtains appropriate and required signatures on delivery tablet or delivery documents; returns documents to SJCH Pharmacy, ensures documents are collated and filed as per SJCH policy and procedures.
- Is responsible for the collection of patient copays. Will keep money secure until it is dropped off at pharmacy.
- Ensures appropriate storage of medication packages during transit, including using cooler and ice packs when cold chain temperature is required.
- Ensures medication packages are secured and locked up in vehicle at all time. No medication packages should be kept in vehicle overnight. Any undelivered medication packages must be returned to Pharmacy before end of work shift.
- Will bring money from copays back to the pharmacy and work with pharmacy to complete the deliveries on the iPad.
- Saturday shifts may be required with 3 days prior notice from Pharmacist in Charge, Pharmacist on duty and / or Pharmacy Operations Manager.
