PrideStaff is seeking a growth-minded, mechanically inclined  Quality Control Technician for a Motorsports Manufacturing Company in  Concord, NC . This individual is responsible for reviewing products and materials during manufacturing to make sure they meet company requirements. Their duties include measuring objects compared to their intended physical specifications, running quality tests, and identifying defects along with communicating all quality issues to management in a timely manner, along with recommendations for any corrective actions that may be necessary.

Schedule: Monday through Friday 8:00 AM-5:00 PM

Pay Rate: $20-25/hr.

Job Summary:
The QC Technician will be responsible for ensuring the quality, safety, and performance of mechanical hoses and related automotive components, with an emphasis on inspecting and testing electrical wiring, connectors, and components used in our products. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of quality assurance processes, electrical systems, and testing methodologies, and will work closely with the production team to ensure all products meet stringent quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect electrical wiring and connections in automotive assemblies, including verifying proper installation, functionality, and conformance to electrical standards.
  • Conduct electrical tests on components, including continuity testing, voltage checks, resistance tests, and troubleshooting wiring issues using multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other electrical diagnostic tools.
  • Perform mechanical and electrical inspections on hoses and assemblies to ensure compliance with product specifications, safety standards, and customer requirements.
  • Document inspection results, including detailed records of electrical tests, defects, and any non-conformance, ensuring full traceability for quality audits.
  • Collaborate with the production and engineering teams to identify root causes of electrical defects and implement corrective actions to address recurring issues.
  • Review electrical schematics and wiring diagrams to verify that all components are correctly integrated into the assembly.
  • Ensure that all products meet both mechanical and electrical quality standards, performing rigorous testing and inspections to confirm product reliability and performance in real-world automotive environments.
  • Verify proper calibration and functionality of all testing equipment used in electrical testing, ensuring all tools are accurate and compliant with industry standards.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining quality control procedures, particularly related to electrical systems and wiring integrity, to improve product consistency.
  • Monitor production processes and assist in resolving any quality issues related to electrical wiring or electrical component failures during assembly.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying trends in electrical defects or quality issues and suggesting process improvements.
  • Ensure that all quality inspections are performed in adherence to industry standards (ISO, IATF 16949, etc.) and safety regulations.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or training in electrical systems, automotive technology, or quality control is highly preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in quality control with a focus on electrical wiring, electrical systems testing, or automotive electrical components.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, including wiring, connectors, sensors, and diagnostic equipment (e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes).
  • Experience with electrical testing techniques such as continuity, voltage, and resistance tests, as well as the ability to troubleshoot and identify electrical issues in automotive assemblies.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems (QMS) and standards such as ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or similar.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on identifying potential electrical defects or issues that may impact product performance and safety.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to document inspection results, report findings, and collaborate with production teams.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and quality control software tools.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve electrical and mechanical issues in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team to meet production and quality targets.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and manual handling of electrical components and testing equipment.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, machinery, and varying temperatures.
