Job Summary:
The Senior Claims Adjuster is responsible for managing all aspects of complex and high-exposure workers’ compensation claims. This role requires a high level of independent judgment in interpreting policy coverage, directing investigative efforts, and developing litigation strategies in partnership with legal counsel. The adjuster will ensure timely, cost-effective claim resolutions and maintain regular communication with clients, carriers, and internal management.

Key Responsibilities:
• Interpret and apply coverage on complex and unusual policy claims, determining applicability and scope.
• Independently manage investigative activities and oversee litigation strategy in collaboration with legal counsel.
• Establish and maintain appropriate claim reserves and authorize payments within designated authority.
• Settle claims promptly and equitably, ensuring disbursements are issued in a timely and cost-effective manner.
• Develop and pursue subrogation and third-party recovery opportunities following established reclaim procedures.
• Analyze claims data and prepare comprehensive reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Actively participate in client and carrier claim reviews.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
• 4–8 years of experience in claims handling, preferably within a technical or workers’ compensation environment.
• Workers’ Compensation Adjuster License (as required by jurisdiction).
• Preferred industry certifications such as IIA, AIC, AEI, or CPCU. Careerbuilder-US
