To support our rapid growth and expanding partnerships, we are seeking a Senior Program Manager to oversee the execution of complex initiatives, ensuring alignment between science, engineering, product development, and business functions while driving efficient execution and commercialization of our solutions.

About the Role

As Senior Program Manager, you will lead and coordinate complex, cross-functional programs across science, engineering, product development, and commercialization teams. You will help ensure BioLumic’s breakthrough seed trait innovations are efficiently developed, tested, and brought to market. Your ability to manage dependencies, mitigate risks, track performance metrics, and ensure clear stakeholder communication will be critical to BioLumic’s success.

You will be responsible for helping to scale BioLumic’s seed trait platform, ensuring seamless execution from R&D to commercialization. This includes working with teams to coordinate technology development, field trials, and external partnerships, ensuring alignment across research, technical development, and business strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage BioLumic’s strategic partner programs, ensuring smooth execution across R&D, engineering, and commercial teams.
  • Guide the operational scaling of BioLumic’s seed trait platform, managing the transition from research and development to commercialization for new products.
  • Develop and maintain program roadmaps, tracking milestones, deliverables, risks, and dependencies.
  • Oversee key initiatives, including technology development, field trials, and commercialization efforts with seed industry partners.
  • Ensure transparency for stakeholders through clear, structured reporting and regular updates to internal and external partners.
  • Track performance metrics and KPIs, leveraging insights to improve execution, efficiency, and scalability.
  • Identify and mitigate risks, ensuring projects stay on schedule and within scope.
  • Mentor and develop cross-functional teams, fostering a high-performance culture that supports collaboration and innovation

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of program or project management experience.
  • Strong experience managing complex, multi-disciplinary projects across R&D, engineering, and commercial teams.
  • Expertise in scaling technology platforms, ensuring smooth integration from research to commercial applications.
  • Proven ability to track performance metrics, mitigate risks, and manage dependencies in large-scale projects.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate technical insights into actionable business strategies.
  • Experience with data-driven decision-making, ensuring projects align with business and commercialization goals.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and agile methodologies
  • Degree in an agriculture related major and PMP certification is an advantage
  • Experience in fast-paced startup or high-growth environments is a plus.
  • Prior experience in the seed, agriculture, or biotechnology industry is highly desirable.

Location & Work Environment

This position is based in Champaign, IL, with potential flexibility for hybrid or remote work depending on experience and qualifications. Some travel may be required for collaboration with internal teams and external partners.
