Job Description

Matern Staffing is hiring a detail-oriented and customer-focused Service Writer for a material handling company in Richmond, VA. The Service Writer acts as the liaison between customers and the service department, ensuring repairs and maintenance are scheduled, documented, and completed efficiently.

This role is essential in ensuring the efficiency of our service processes, maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction, and supporting the Service Manager with daily operations. Salary: $25/hr

Schedule: 8:00 am – 4:30 pm, Monday thru Friday

What You’ll Do:

• Handle incoming customer calls and dispatch technicians for equipment maintenance
• Create, process, and close work orders, ensuring timely invoicing
• Prepare and submit warranty claims, following up on unpaid claims
• Track parts backorders and adjust service schedules as needed
• Invoice customers promptly and work to meet daily WIP goals
• Maintain service records and update customer profiles
• Monitor technician efficiency and address service inquiries
• Provide administrative support to the Service Manager

What You’ll Need:

• Previous experience in a service department role required, preferably within the material handling industry
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and service-related software
• Strong multitasking and time management abilities
• Capability to meet the physical demands necessary to perform all job functions effectively
• Ability to pass drug test and background check
