Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled RF Cellular Engineer with expertise in automotive/robot applications to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, development, testing, and optimization of RF cellular systems and components integrated into automotive/robot platforms. This role will play a critical part in ensuring reliable and efficient communication systems within connected vehicles and robots.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and design RF circuits, antenna systems, and cellular communication modules tailored for automotive/robot applications
  • Integrate RF and cellular components into automotive/robot platforms, ensuring compatibility with system architectures
  • Conduct RF performance testing, including sensitivity, power, and interference analysis
  • Optimize cellular connectivity for 4G LTE, 5G, and other emerging technologies under diverse Tesla product operating conditions
  • Perform root-cause analysis and resolve issues related to signal quality, interference, or hardware/software malfunctions
  • Ensure designs meet industry standards and regulatory requirements, including FCC, 3GPP, and ISO
  • Work closely with hardware, software, and systems engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of RF systems into vehicles
  • Stay up to date on emerging technologies, trends, and advancements in RF and cellular communications

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in RF design and testing, preferably in automotive or telecommunication sectors
  • Hands-on experience with cellular communication technologies (e.g., 4G LTE, 5G, NB-IoT)
  • Expertise in using RF test equipment such as call box, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and signal generators
  • Familiarity with RF circuit design, tuning, and integration
  • Knowledge of communication protocols like TCP/IP, CAN, and LIN
  • Familiarity with RF simulation and design tools (e.g., HFSS, ADS, MATLAB, CST)
  • Experience with automotive-grade communication systems and standards (e.g., V2X, DSRC
  • Understanding of EMC/EMI mitigation techniques in automotive environments
  • Familiarity with vehicle network architectures and infotainment systems

    $118,320 - $273,480/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

    Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
