Job Description

To evaluate customers’ business utilizing energy assessment tools. To educate the customers on the findings and selling products that will meet their needs. Primary responsibility will be to sell Energy Efficiency programs (designed with Utility Company’s incentive) to reduce costs and reduce energy usage to Small Business customers. Responsibilities include prospecting for qualified small business customers, conducting energy assessments, developing solutions for lighting and HVAC, presenting proposals to customers and signing up new customers for the Energy Efficiency Retrofits.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Perform comprehensive walk-in assessments and take lighting (illuminance) measurements.

· Secure Small Business participation in program.

· Sell energy efficiency improvements.

· Enter customer and assessment information in the company database.

· Oversee installations, QAQC after.

· Maintain sales and closing quotas.

· Follow–up on any issues with customers before and/or after installations.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

· Daily targeted number of leads generated as a result of walk-in assessments.

· Sales and closing quotas.

· Accuracy of assessments at 75% or better.

· Adherence to safety policy.

· Energy savings generated.

QUALIFICATIONS

· High School Diploma

· B2B sales with 2–5 years’ experience. Some energy sales are desired but not required.

· Knowledge of Lighting, HVAC, building envelope and Energy Efficiency in general in Small Business operations.

· Strong direct, door-to-door or cold call sales skills.

· Good communication skills & ability to communicate energy savings in a simple manner.

· Conduct outreach and education to targeted customers and schedule energy efficiency assessments.

· Assess multiple buildings per day and enroll customers in the program.

· Determine qualifying measures and techniques.

· Explain assessment results to customers and effectively sell a project.

· Timely reporting of weekly activities and assessment results with reporting Manager.

· Valid Michigan Driver’s License.

· Ability to pass the background check and Drug Test.
