Special Education Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, including autism, and a strong background in early childhood education. This role involves creating and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to meet the unique needs of each student, fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Duties:

• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
• Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to each student's education.
• Provide behavioral therapy techniques to support students in managing their emotions and behaviors effectively.
• Utilize speech therapy strategies when necessary to aid communication skills among students.
• Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages social interaction and peer relationships.
• Maintain accurate records of student performance, behavior, and progress toward IEP goals.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in special education.

Qualifications:

• On Wisconsin Registry Level 3 or Higher
• Valid teaching certification in Special Education Preferred
• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, particularly autism.
• Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education practices.
• Familiarity with behavioral therapy techniques and speech therapy interventions is a plus.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with students, families, and colleagues.
• Ability to adapt teaching methods based on individual student needs and learning styles.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $16.00 per hour
