Job Description

Overview:

A Safe Haven, a leading provider of comprehensive behavioral health services is seeking a dedicated and experienced Associate Clinical Director to lead our clinical team in providing exceptional care and support to individuals experiencing mental health mood, anxiety, eating disorders, and behavioral health challenges. As associate clinical director, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and enhancing the clinical services offered within our adolescent IOP. Your responsibilities will include developing and implementing evidence-based treatment protocols, supervising clinical staff, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.

Responsibilities:
  • Supervision and Leadership : Oversee and supervise clinical staff, including therapists, counselors, and other mental health professionals. Provide clinical guidance and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based treatment. Conduct regular staff meetings, individual supervision sessions, and performance evaluations. Facilitate team collaboration and resolve conflicts within the clinical team.
  • Program Development and Management : Assist in the development and implementation of program protocols, policies, and procedures. Ensure the program meets regulatory standards and accreditation requirements. Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, adjusting as needed to improve outcomes. Manage the day-to-day operations of the program, including scheduling, resource allocation, and client intake processes.
  • Client Care and Treatment Planning: Oversee the assessment and treatment planning for adolescents in the program. Ensure that treatment plans are individualized and align with best practices for treating mood disorders, anxiety, eating disorders, and substance abuse. Monitor the progress of clients and adjust treatment plans as necessary. Provide direct clinical services as needed, including crisis intervention and family therapy.
  • Training and Development: Develop and implement training programs for clinical staff on relevant topics such as therapeutic techniques, crisis management, and ethical practices. Stay updated on the latest research and trends in adolescent mental health and substance abuse treatment. Facilitate professional development opportunities for staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Community and Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with community partners, referral sources, and other stakeholders. Represent the program in community meetings, conferences, and other events. Collaborate with schools, social services, and healthcare providers to coordinate care and support for clients.

  • Administrative Duties : Assist in budget planning and financial management for the program. Ensure accurate documentation and record-keeping in compliance with legal and ethical standards. Participate in strategic planning and contribute to the overall vision and direction of the organization.

Qualifications:
  • Doctoral or master's degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Current licensure as a clinical psychologist (LP), licensed clinical social worker (LCSW), licensed clinical professional counselor (LCPC), or equivalent, with a minimum of 8 years of post-licensure clinical experience.
  • Proven leadership experience in a behavioral health setting, with a strong track record of effectively managing clinical teams and driving quality improvement initiatives.
  • Deep understanding of addiction treatment modalities, trauma-informed care principles, and evidence-based practices for addressing mental health disorders.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to foster a supportive and collaborative work environment.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements governing behavioral health services, including HIPAA, Medicaid/Medicare regulations, and accreditation standards (e.g., CARF, Joint Commission).
  • Commitment to cultural competence, diversity, equity, and inclusion, with the ability to effectively engage with clients from diverse backgrounds and communities.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to program evaluation and performance improvement.
