Salary Range: $123,656.00 - $197,787.20 (We anticipate hiring near the midpoint.)

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 am to 5 pm

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead multi-jurisdictional initiatives to develop and implement innovative housing strategies that address the diverse needs of our communities.
  • Navigate and interpret complex land development regulations across multiple jurisdictions to ensure compliance and advance project goals.
  • Develop comprehensive plans that integrate private sector perspectives and leverage market insights for strategic decision-making.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders from the private sector, government agencies, and community organizations to facilitate seamless project execution.
  • Provide strategic guidance and leadership to cross-functional teams, fostering a collaborative environment that achieves project objectives.
  • Analyze market trends, demographic shifts, and regulatory changes to inform the development and adaptation of housing strategies and land development plans.
  • Advocate for inclusive and sustainable development practices that prioritize affordability and resilience in housing and land use planning.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, presenting findings, recommendations, and progress updates to support informed decision-making and consensus-building.
  • Utilize development agreements and other tools to negotiate terms and address issues related to property development.
  • Guide and support departmental staff, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and innovation.
  • Oversee all aspects of land use, community development and housing initiatives within the county.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field is required; a master's degree is preferred.
  • At least ten (10) years of professional experience, including a minimum of five (5) years in a management or supervisory role with a proven track record of leadership and achievement.
  • Strong understanding of land use, transportation, planning, and economic development principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate a compelling vision and influence key stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work independently and think strategically, with a focus on driving results.
